PCV Valve/Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve

Removes partially-burned gases and moisture from the crankcase. Improves economy and reduce emissions while preventing buildup of sludge and corrosion in the engine.PCV 
Before the PCV valve was mandated in the early 1960's the crankcase fumes were vented into the atmosphere. Now the crankcase is a closed system which is not only good for the environment but keeps the engine and engine oil much cleaner.
