Manifold Absolute Pressure/MAP SensorMAP sensor

Both the MAP and the MAF sensors measure how much load or air is coming into the engine to calculate how much fuel to inject and ignition timing control. You will almost never find both on the same vehicle.

The MAP sensor measure the air pressure inside the intake manifold. The PCM uses this information calculate how much air coming into the engine, engine load and outside barometric pressure and altitude.

Mass Air Flow Sensor/MAF Sensor

Measures the amount of air drawn through the engine's air intake, so the computer can calculate amount of fuel to inject and compensate for engine load, altitude and temperature.MAF Most of these sensor work by applying a set small amount of voltage across a small heating element and measuring how much power it takes to maintain that voltage. The more air coming in the more power it will require to maintain voltage. The computer also needs to know outside air temperature for this calculation.

Throttle Position Sensor/TPS

Monitors the position of the accelerator pedal and the throttle linkage, so the PCM can monitor throttle movement for more precise air/fuel mixture adjustments.TPS
