Question for this week:
Q: A feature nicknamed "suspenders were removed from an
American made car in the 1957 year. What was referred to as
suspenders on a car?
A: The twin streaks coming down the hood on Pontiacs. The new
general manager of Pontiac set out to transform Pontiac's stodgy
image in 1956. He removed the twin streaks, calling them
"suspenders" and also got rid of the Indian hood ornament.
